Chuck McKinney Invitational Mile
This year we will again hold the "Chuck McKinney Invitational Mile". Chuck was the Head Coach at Baldwin when he hosted the 1st Baldwin Invitational back in 1973 and for the next 19 years. This is one way to keep his name associated with the Invitational. Chuck will be at the meet to hand out the medals and plaque for the event winners. Some specifics regarding this event are:
> The Invitational Mile will be a scored event.
> The number of male and female participants will be limited to 10 - 15 individuals. Coaches will be submit individual and a seeding time for this event either a timed mile from a sanctioned FAT-timed invitational or converted 1600 meter time from a sanctioned FAT-timed invitational will be acceptable. Dual meet times, hand times or projected times will not be acceptable.
> The Invitational Mile will be run directly after the 1600 Meters.
> Coaches will be able to enter their athlete into both events (Mile and 1600 Meters) but they can only compete in one event. Once the individuals have been selected for the Invitational Mile, their name will be deleted from the 1600 Meter competition. Once selected, the individual athlete may drop the Mile but will not be permitted to re-enter the 1600 Meters for any reason.
> The Selection Committee made up of Baldwin’s Distance Coach Rich Wright, Mt.Lebanon’s Head Coach Mike Agostinella and Tri-State Track Coaches Association Co-Director Chuck Stout will make the final selection of the field of runners.
